Reviews: 3 Microfiction by Extreme Horror Guru David Owain Hughes

Quite some time had passed since I've had the opportunity to review the output of noted aficionado author of Extreme Horror [read gore, sex, violence, sex, gore, twisted imaginations] David Owain Hughes. Definitely I can say that Mr. Hughes has not slipped from his pinnacle of Extremity; he is still providing avid readers with unexpected convolutions drenched in the above facets for which he is so popularly acclaimed!

"Little Miss Bendy Hips": https://horrorsleazetrash.com/2025/01/24/david-owain-hughes-2/

Please give me a Sequel in which our Protagonist turns the tables and gives the villain a nasty helping of what-for! A tightly knit flash piece in which character and setting are cleverly constructed, and then "Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"

I can see a couple of interpretations to this story, but I'll leave that to individual imaginations and just say this: I found this story an earworm. I read it, now it's in my head, while I calculate how to alter the outcome and achieve poetic Justice.✅

"Enter the Dragon": https://horrorsleazetrash.com/2025/01/24/david-owain-hughes-2/

Very cleverly twisted, comprehensible the misunderstanding. However, I must include a trigger warning for those like me who are inveterate animal fanciers: this one will tear out your heart.

"Nips and Knives": https://horrorsleazetrash.com/2025/02/15/david-owain-hughes-3/

Distinctly not the turn I expected this tale would take, but a satisfying conclusion in the extreme Horror sense. Also, a cautionary lesson: when you're told an essential fact about a certain historical item, heed the warning... or pay the consequences!
